Marathon Monday

As many of you know, for the first few years that I worked for McGraw-Hill, our offices were across from the public library on Boylston Street, literally directly above the Boston Marathon finish line.  Each year during the marathon we would all take the afternoon off and hang out in the boss’s office watching the finishers come in.  I have to say, it was really very cool.  I’ll never forget seeing the photo-finish in the wheelchair race one year.  The leader was coming toward the finish line and probably thought he had the thing won, but another racer surged up behind him and overtook him in the last couple hundred yards–literally right in front of us, right before the finish line.  I’m not sure the leader realized until it was too late.  It was so exciting!  So many good stories….  This year my friend Randolph (Hi Randolph!) is running, and as far as I can tell he is making GREAT time.  Go Randolph!!

A Boring Super Bowl, eh?

Well, it sure seems like a lot of people didn’t think it was so boring (click here).

Baby, that’s devotion!
