A slap in the face

The South Dakota bill banning abortions–with no exception for cases of rape or incest–is a slap in the face to all women. To force a woman who has been raped and become pregnant to have the child–to take away her choice in the matter–is to tell her that she is not a person, but a victim of both rape and biology.* Shame on them all.

*Not to mention her citizenship.

Hi Terri—I (surprise) completely agree with you. I think this is just another sign that, like the trajectory of all great societies/superpowers, the U.S. is on the way out of number 1. It seems that this bullshit, along with the other trampling over people’s basic rights (torture, voting weirdness in recent national elections, still no healthcare, etc.) indicates a slide down. Anyway, a small note here to let you know I left McGH for HM. Of course I forgot/didn’t figure out how to take my friends’ email addresses with me, so here I am leaving you this comment. Love to you, SandE, and Ezra. Hope I get to see you soon.

Hey! I’m so pleased to hear about your new position! And (surprise surprise!) I totally agree with all of your points. Ugh.
