Oh, that was great fun! I almost never get tired of learning about what makes other knitters hum happily.

Have you seen the new Knitty? There's a cabley cardigan pattern (Samus) that's kinda got my lizard brain a-twitching.

And I'm very sorry I didn't give you a holla when I signed up for SP6 -- I know I thought about doing it, and I guess I just sort of assumed I'd harrassed you at some point. Foo!

I was over at Knitty just the other day, but I don't think I saw the cardigan... I'll have to get over there and have a look. Have you worked with cables much before? I love them.

No worries about the SP thing. I have to work myself up to it... I need to stop being cheap and start being creative! Maybe with SP7. See, I'll find out how much fun you're having with it, and then I'll want to do it, too.

I like striped socks in nice colors, but nothing too clown-like.
Please take this in the spirit in which it was intended, from someone who loves you and adores just about every single fantastic pair of eyeboggling socks you own, but, I gotta say, clown-like-ness is in the eye of the beholder. You have some pretty intensely bright socks!

Also, what's everybody's problem with ponchos? I like ponchos. I just have so little occasion to wear mine.

Maybe it would have been better to say "nothing too hippie-like." I don't like the striped socks that have every basic bright color--yellow, red, green, purple, blue, orange... all in equally sized stripes and with individually knit toes. Uck! I don't like those at all. What is that--Mork from Ork? I don't know.

As for ponchos... I don't really have a problem with them. I guess I've just seen them done badly. And we don't all have the woodland piper past that you have. ;) No, seriously, I think I showed you a poncho in a catalog recently that I really kind of liked, and when it starts to feel like Fall for real, I might start longing for a poncho-type snuggler.
