Something’s going down

About ten police cars, sirens blaring, just sped down Curtis and onto Powderhouse in the direction of Powderhouse Circle. Helicopters are circling somewhere over in that direction as well. An unmarked police car with siren going followed a few minutes after the first batch of cars, and then… almost like a joke, really… a policeman on a motorcycle, with siren blaring (of course), zipped up Curtis Street going the wrong way.
Of course, I’m dying to know what’s going on. So I called Ezra. Not that he, in an office building in Kendall Square, would have any better idea than I do. This reminds me of a big scene we saw on Newbury Street several years ago. There was some kind of major confrontation going on in the middle of the road and a huge crowd had gathered. I don’t know if there were guns or knives involved, but there was a lot of yelling and it seemed very tense. We couldn’t really see over the crowd. We figured that we’d read about it in the papers or something, but no. We never heard a thing about it, and to this day I have no idea what happened.
So I told Ez about that, and he mentioned the limo fire he saw in Harvard Square a few weeks ago (there goes another helicopter… and I’m hearing another siren–police truck going the other way… the right direction on Curtis and then down Powderhouse toward Route 16). He probably never would have found scoop on what really happened if it weren’t for the wonderful world of blogs. So, blog friends, in case this fracas doesn’t end up in the news, anybody know what happened in the Davis/Powderhouse area on Friday, May 27th around 3:00PM?

You could go over to Flickr, but I’ll post some of my favorite shots from Paris here, anyway.
I’ll end up posting more of my pictures from the South of France here, too. Even though they’ll also be at Flickr.

I now have my own Flickr account, where I am posting pictures I’ve taken, either on my own camera or on Ezra’s. I’m loading up photos I took on our recent vacation to France. If you like, you can have a look at http://www.flickr.com/photos/tercat/.
