Finally, a few Republicans are stating their dislike for Rumsfeld

OK. So finally Trent Lott and John McCain are coming out and expressing some dislike of Rumsfeld. Lott says he should be replaced, and McCain says he has “no confidence” in him. But then McCain goes and says that whether Rumsfeld is any good or not doesn’t matter because Bush “can have the team that he wants around him,” and that makes it hard for me to join some of my friends and family who like McCain. No, a president shouldn’t just be able to do whatever he or she wants.

The holiday goodness is fully loaded at the Curtisian. Witness:

shiny tree 2004

On Saturday, the Curtisian was the site of much holiday revel. Luckily Ezra wasn’t singing “When Doves Cry”–as he is now as I write this. You should see his face, people. Here’s a more palatable version of Ezra goofiness, party style.

It has come to my attention that I still haven’t posted any of my knitting here. So here it comes.

cabled throw 4

This is a cabled throw blanket from a Jo Sharp pattern, using Jo Sharp yarn. It’s a fun project, and the yarn is fab. I tend to pick things up and work on them like crazy and then put them down for ages. I’m in a sort of now-and-then phase with this one. The holidays are good times for knitting, so I’ll probably make further progress on it in the next few weeks… maybe I’ll finish while the weather’s still cold enough for me to need it!

I’m primarily a non-sugary cereal fan myself… and some of those oatmeal combos they mention have me drooling. MMmmmm.
